HISTORY
The Se are part of a larger group of people known as the Ga-Dangme that settled in the Accra plains in the 1500s as described through oral history.
The general populace was scattered in the plains west of the Shai hills where they founded Dodowa, Agomeda, Kodiabe, Doryumu, Ayikuma and Jopanya and other farm villages.

SE is known for its rich natural resources. Private investors, commercial and industrial partners are invited to come invest in SE communities, to support job creation and economic development for the Se people.
ABOUT SEH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (SEDCO)
Though sometimes mixed up in meaning as the same, it is important to distinguish between economic development and economic growth. These two economic terms are not the same in any economic sense. Economic development relates to material wellbeing (qualitative), while economic growth measures the real output of goods and services (quantitative). Economic development is critical to any community's success.
SEH Economic Development Company (SEDCO) is a one-stop organization. It is an economic development, local content and natural resources management company building strong partnerships with communities, specifically SE communities. SEDCO is a registered nonprofit corporation in the United States and in Ghana, West Africa.

To promote economic development in SE communities, stimulate private sector investments in real estate to develop residential, commercial, and industrial infrastructure in SE communities, ensure SE communities benefit from all natural resources within its geographic boundaries;
manage natural resource wealth responsibly and sustainably, promote entrepreneurship and businesses support services, and help SE communities be good custodians of the natural resources and the environment.

LOCAL CONTENT
Little or no thought is given to the local populations who live in the area where resource extraction takes place. Natural resources have the potential to drive growth and development, and poverty reduction. The value brought to local, regional or national economy from an extraction project is referred to as local content.
Our push toward local content strives to ensure participation of local population in the economic activities derived from their land; ensure companies operating within the land boundaries of SE recognize these communities and their needs, while forming partnerships to foster innovative environment and development of basic infrastructure network in these host communities.
LAND & NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
This service is not the typical land and natural resource management service. This is one of our most popular services available. It’s makes a big difference for many of our customers, and is provided with the highest level of excellence. With this service, we ensure all SE land lease or sales are managed without compromising the inheritance of future generations.

The SE Land Scheme Project - is the key component under this services. Under the SE Land Scheme Program, all SE lands will be consolidated and managed under the program with the help of appointed Land Management Board.
